Gomphrena

Gomphrena photo

Gomphrena, also known as the Globe amaranths, is a genus of flowering plants in the Amaranthaceae family. Species in this genus include Gomphrena celosioides, Gomphrena serrata, Gomphrena haageana, Gomphrena perennis, and Gomphrena globosa.

Like other members of the family of Amaranthaceae, Gomphrena can grow as an annual plant in any zone that is frost-free, but grows best in partial shade to hot summer regions. Depending on its varieties, the plant can grow to a height of 1 - 3 feet, with a width of about 1 foot. Globe amaranth flowers are great for crafts, but they’re just as ideal from the cutting backyard for fresh flower arrangements. Its clover-like flowers brighten any shady location. Gomphrena blooms in magenta, purple, pink, red and white. They do nicely in containers, and are best used as edging plants in a border.

That said, ordering a floral arrangement from Astra Fund Holland BV online is an easy process and a great alternative to travelling there when you’re in a different country, just to buy a fresh cut bouquet of flowers. The convenience of online purchasing and wide-ranging varieties offers you an impressive choice of flowers wholesale from Holland, for any special event of occasion.
