Portulaca is a very beautiful and it’s a low growing ground cover type of plant. It is sometimes known as the sun rose or moss rose plant. Portulaca plants are native to Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. Portulaca flowers are very easy to grow and maintain.

Portulaca flowers can tolerate many kinds of soil but it prefers sandy and well-drained soil. They love the full sunlight exposure. These plants are excellent for a high heat and drought tolerance and they will also seed and spread themselves well. Some control methods might be needed to keep Portulaca from becoming invasive to some areas where they are not wanted.
