The Crocosmia belongs to the family of iridaceae; it is a vivacious and rare looking genus. Usually, it is referred to as ‘Lucifer’ as they can come in an optimistic, pimento-like shade of red. Crocosmia are also known as the ‘falling stars’ in America. It is the recommended to cut the ends of the stems at an angle and they should be put in lukewarm water which contains cut flower food for prolonging their life.
