Livistona

Livistona photo

Livistona is a genus of palms in the Arecaceae family, native to southeastern and southern Asia, the Horn of Africa and Australasia. Livistona has broad leaves and its tree is an indoor plant. The plants grow well in indoor swimming pools and sunrooms where there’s natural sunlight. The plant’s stem is just similar to a hook. When this plant is in its young age the stem remains soft but when mature it gets a wooden trunk. The tree trunk can grow up to 15 - 25 feet tall and 18 inches in diameter. There are inflorescences hidden in the crown that are sooner transformed to fruits. The fruit of the tree is in round and oval shape. The fruit is bluish-green in color and is edible.

If you put the plant in direct sun light it will consume quite a lot of water. It can grow well in normal temperature but if the temperature becomes too high it can destroy the growth of the tree.
